Default Series motor upgrade.

With my next tax return I'm going to push a motor upgrade. Any suggestions? FYI, I took my motor down to my local electric motor shop and talked to a different guy than the first time. He shouted behind the corner and then responded with, "We don't do that here, but we can send it to California to a place that does that stuff". Really? That isn't the impression I got from his Dad or whoever I had spoken with the first time.

Regardless, If money is no object. What can I ask for from a series wound motor? Even my Father , the lineman of 40 years, scratches his head and tells me to trust those who know best.

Well. you guys know best and I want more speed and torque. I'ld rather have more speed than torque if that helps? It's a series motor so I have lots of torque regardless, I just don't want to stall it out and overheat while I crawl around the neighborhood chasing deer.

And another FYI. I hate deer! I tagged one while driving home at 3 am last Tuesday morning. It broke my grille and front header. Luckily it missed all the headlight and blinker assys. Fricken forest rats. *Raises fist, I hate whitetails! I don't even like the taste of them.

LOL, I went off on rant there. Anywho. Motor suggestions would be appreciated.

Shon.

I have eight, T-105s and a 4855 pushing the motor listed below, and I'm happy. Stock rear end and tires. Getting around 25 mph on flat and 37.6 downhill.

I already have 24 mph on the level. Crap, I might have to go extreme. Yes you have 6.1 HP. I'm wondering how to go further.

FYI, I'm all about extreme. Just look at my build. LOL

Gonkulor,
How much speed did you pick up with the 8:1 gears?

When I have an extra $650 I'm looking at the PQ Assassin.

The 8:1 gears took me upwards to 24mph with everything else stock. I have since upgraded everything else.

Wait. That was also with the 23 inch tires

I lost more torque than I thought I would with the big tires. I still have plenty of torque, series motor and all, but I still want more speed. If I had to do it again, I would have geared it to 6:1 and then went torque motor upgrade.

Just so I understand. The 8:1 gears took you from golf course speed (12-14mph) to 24mph?

I get top GPS speed of 27mph now (ave 24-25).

Nope. Fish I wish I was that fortunate. I also added 23 inch tires with the 8:1 ratio. I really figured I would have gotten more speed out of all that but nope I'm still looking for more and I want my motor rewound.
