Yes, those are Mississippi plates.... long story, short version- Virginia is not a LSV positive state. I plated with my residence in Gulfport, MS... MS is a LSV positive and supports the use of LSV's.
I had VA plates on the first three projects, then VA changes the state regulations (July 3rd, 2012) on LSV's that the original manufacturer has to certify as "street legal", conversions are no longer authorized to be plated / registered as LSV. The full windshield with top on it slows down to a steady 28 mph, without windshield and top, she rolls between 34-36mph. The top comes off for summer beach crusing, back on for rain of cooler weather rides. The wife likes it better with windshield and top, no more speeding tickets... the first one was funny in court, the officer failed to show, so I had to explain situation, judge dismissed for he believed "golf carts" couldn't operate at that speed. Second ticket, not so much, camera footage with radar, wife then held court at home... I am not allowed to exceed speed limits, unless I want to lose my "wifes" operating permision. |

SK, now LS (rate name change), Assigned to CNSL as AMPHIB supply training/inspector. ARLINGTON is under my "umbrella" for domain. Found a great place on first trip that needed lots of work, bought really cheap and remodeling and expanding. Gulfport is a great place for short term vacation away from reality.
Will be back again in FEB for last review before she sails out for Norfolk. |
