Wiring Issue with 98 club car series
I just purchased a D + D torque motor, a 650 amp controller, and heavy duty solenoid and installed it according to the wiring diagram provided. When I turn on the key and hit the gas all I get is a clicking noise from the solenoid. The batteries are brand new fully charged 860 series, and the led light does not light up on the new controller at all. This is a 48 volt system. Any help would be much appreciated, I am leaning towards an issue with the solenoid wiring with the "little wires" that attach to it.

Re: Wiring Issue with 98 club car series
You need both a diode and a resistor wired to the solenoid.
For the diode, the banded end attaches to the (+) voltage side. Orientation of the resistor does not matter. The diode goes between the two small terminals. (Solenoid coil) The resistor goes between the two big terminals. (Solenoid contacts) |
