Charging Problem - 48v. Sorry guys.
I know there are innumerable threads with a similar problem, but I haven't hit "the" one yet.
2003 CC. 48v. I've had the cart a couple months. No charging problems until the new additions. New additions - Grizzly II torque motor; 2 ga. cable set; HD F/R switch Alltrax 575 controller. Still running the stock solenoid, but a beefier one is on the way. Club Car Power Drive II - Model 22110 2013 Batteries. All individual batteries are showing 8+ volts. Pack is showing 48.1. Although the "chart" suggests I'm at 35/40%, the cart behaves like its going to die imminently. All connections appear to be tightened down nicely. BTW - the motor is a joy when its all juiced up! Anyway, when I put it on the charger, it starts and runs for about 30 seconds and then cuts out. Or - it does nothing but click. I've also tried it with another charger with no joy - cart issue. Thoughts? |

Did you run the #2ga ground cable back through the hole in the OBC?

48.1v is considered a "dead" pack. Don't continue to drive it till the charging is fixed.

Re: Charging Problem - 48v. Sorry guys.
48.1 being bad news puzzles me.
I mean - I understand it's healthier to charge the cart when it dips below 50%, but the "state of charge" sticky that I can't find now puts 48.1 between 40 & 50%. What am I missing there? It certainly behaves like a dead pack, but .... |

You keep referring to "I've got 40-50% left". That's not true, sure you can drive further but every minute doing so takes weeks off the battery life. If you were to discharge to 20% often, new batteries wouldn't last one year. You shorten their life cycle that much. |

Charge the thing! Poor cart.... Don't drive it anymore
It happened after you installed upgrages, so check all wiring then check again |

. . . I would test the OBC by bypassing it in the charger . . . does the battery warning light illuminate or flash when the charge cycle terminates after the stated 30 seconds?
