2008 RXV no power...and fix
Many thanks to this forum. I made a donation. I wanted to try and give back a little and post my problem and solution. I know this is known knowledge, but maybe it will save someone hours of searching and reading. The RXV thread is over 38 pages. Great info there.
My 2008 RXV just slowed down and stopped one day. A slight burning smell was noticed. When I would turn the key on the Reverse buzzer worked, lights ok, Fuel gauge read empty and light was on. No click from brake or controller when the key was turned on. As suggested on the forum I removed the black wire from the control resistor and the cart went through its test clicking when the key was turned on. Replaced the control resistor (part#60814 and the cart is running great. The resistor is the small black electrical box located near the controller. I also ran into a guy that had a newer RXV that would run very slow....hardly moved. It turned out to be the bearing encoder located in the motor. I really like my RXV, but it is pricey to keep running. Thanks again to the forum! |
