Good deal! Depending how much heat you put on it you may want to be listening for the bearing. Mine started "creaking" shortly. (but I put alot of heat on the drum.)

Great thread. I'm having a bad day at work and post #78 just made my day!

I've been trying to get the hub off my 88 for the past 4-5 years to service brake (or lack thereof) or simply replace with disc brakes. Tried all these tricks as well. Actually I may still be driving it without the cotter pin and castle nut....

Sorry for your pains CTD but glad you finally got there. Guess I'll be getting a good cut off wheel someday. Good to know that even the most knowledgeable guys get just as frustrated as the rest of us over some of the little things.
