Default Is there a way to make sure my charger is working properly?

I just have new 8v's and cables put in. The service people told me to bring my charger back when I picked it up to check it. I assumed they were going to plug it into a machine that did that (yeah, go ahead and laugh, I have no clue). Insted, they just hooked it up to my cart. The guy put a multi meter on it and said it was "maybe" overcharging. I guess it was reading like 57 or 58...but he went on to say that the new batteries were not fully charged and that maybe my charger was in the "high?" (I may have that terminology wrong) charge cycle and I needed to check it when I got home! So I had it plugged in for about 3 hours. On the old batteries, a green light would come on when it was charged, that had not happened. And when I put the multi meter on, it was reading that 57.

Am I correct in assuming that even when a battery is charging, the reading should always be around 50v?

No Worries, let it finish. 48v batteries under charge must go to 58v minimum and can safely go to 65v per Trojan Battery Co.

I think I read the rules, and instead of starting a whole new thread, thought I might ask about lights in this one.

I do not want anything except a light bar for the front, just to be able to drive the 2011 YDRX (Seems everything is geared towards G series and I cant seem to find my model) at night if an emergency arose. What I don't know and cant seem to figure out is are most lights made for 12 volt systems? Do you need a converter for an 8 volt?

And I assume you by the light bar, the wiring harness for the light bar, and then a power chord that goes from the light bar to the battery?

If asking a completely separate question in a existing thread is not allowed, my apologies now!

Your YDRE is a G-29e. Don't hook to one 8v. Given your case, I would just get a small SLA 12v battery to run the light bar seperately since it will rarely be used.

Thanks for the G29 info. So I drop a 12v (deep cycle?) in one of the open slots and use it, I then have to get a 12 volt charger?

And is it like it looks regarding installation on youtube. I would just want to mount on roof, run wire down to dash, drill hole, install on off switch, (and I am to slow to get this part) and then a separate wire is spliced into the wire to the light and it goes to the 12v?

Can you recommend a tow hitch with receiver that will fit it?

A big, expensive 12v won't be needed, based on your expected use description. And yes, the 12v would need to be charged separately, not all the time, just after any use. Run completely separate wiring & switch from the battery to the light bar, not touching the other cart wiring.
No idea on a tough hitch receiver, the ones I have seen didn't impress. I have always welded my own.
