Default 72AH vs 105AH Lithium Lifted PDS Cart

Currently have a 48v PDS cart with 500amp alltrax and admrial b2 motor with 23 inch tires.

My current 6 8v set is only 2yr old and I get about 15-18 miles mixed hills, flat road riding full throttle between 18-25mph.

Would a 72ah give me more or less run time under the same conditions? I'd love to go 105 but ECO batteries price difference is almost $700 between the two.

Any real time experience would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I would go for the extra AH for the range and the performance difference.

I would recommend the 105Ah without a doubt. With 23” tires and upgraded motor/controller, you will want more than 72Ah. The 72Ah pack can handle it, but you just won’t have as much range as the 105Ah. If you were only trying to get 15-18 miles of mild driving, no problem. But from what we experience, the newly added power is too hard to resist using, and you will want the bigger pack.

When you say “range and performance” I was under the impression just the range would be affected… would the torque and speed suffer as well (referring to a fully charged pack)?

Larger pack can handle higher current draw - current == torque. Look at the specs for max sustained current and peak current and the larger pack will be much higher.

i guess i made the right choice then... Like Tyrone said, you only get once chance and if you are already dropping over $2k, might as well speand a bit more for the extra performance and range. Just my 2cents.

74 Ah should get you what that controller and other mods will ask for. Really depends on brands too for outputs. Personally if I had the money I would go for 100Ah+ always for the range and extra output. Lithium is not gonna change your top speed. It will however get u up those hills a lot faster and get u monster acceleration. on average 64Ah 20-25 miles 100Ah 45-50 miles.
