Question G14 Rear End Torque

Hello all,

I'll Introduce myself properly later, but for now I'm tired and have a question

Last night I picked up what the serial identification site says is a 1995 g14, although the diff doesnt match the pictures in the g14 manual. The engine is great but I have a problem with the diff, there is a huge hole in it. I looked under it when I bought it and didn't see anything. I guess the huge thing of dirt that was in the hole stopped it up. There is nothing structural wrong, but I'm going to repair the hole with JBWeld. I need to remove the final drive gear and differential. I need to know what the torque is on the bearing cap bolts. I've attached pictures for your all's pleasure. Can anyone help me?

Excellent, I found a guy on ebay selling 5 rods for about $18 with shipping. I'm ordering now, thanks a lot.

Anyone got any input on what torque I should tighten the bearing cap bolts to? I don't want to take it apart without getting some input on that.

Also where can I get a new seal for the diff cover?

40 ft lbs on the cap bolts. There is no gasket, use RTV. Fill the diff with 90 weight gear lube (or better, it's your choice there) till it starts to flow out the hole. Good luck Dave

Just the answer I was looking for, I'll be doing this as soon as I get the brazing rods from the guy on e-bay. Thanks a lot
