Default First time pulling engine, a couple of questions...

Hello all,
This is my first time pulling any kind of engine. I decided to after fuel pump bolt broke off my 82 2 cycle and I am going to check it out and probably take it to a guy that does machinery and see about getting it drilled out and re-threaded. I actually drilled out the side a little bit where it rounds at the base and I guess I'll have to put some jb-weld. Anyways, I was wanting to leave the starter in the cart and was curious about which bolts to take off. Do I just take off the really long sideways bolt (it's like an arm bolt I guess), then just take off the one at the back right of starter? Or do I need to take off any of the bolts on the side and the allen bolts on the base of it? I am just not sure. I have most of every thing already apart except for the starter bolts and the engine bolts on the side. Thanks for any help.

Make sure whatever you do, remove BOTH of the battery cables from the battery first and should remove the battery, out of your way.

Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah, I took the battery out first thing.eI ended up just taking the side bolts out and the two hex ones at the base and removed alternator with base and laid it to the side. I have to find another one of those hex ones. One I took out, I had to use vice grips. I'm going to take the motor to the machine shop tomorrow. I sure hope they can get that fuel pump hole fixed and rethreaded and not set me too far back in the pocket. My motor mounts look pretty worn as well. So, I guess it's a good time to replace them as well. I might as well look for other things I can do to the engine while it's out.
