01 Workhorse 1200 Charging Issue
I'm new here but have found some great info already.
My 01 WH seems to be draining the battery below the point of startability. I'm leaning more towards a charging issue but am some what stumped by how to check the following: Voltage Regulator - I keep reading about grounding a green wire and checking the leads going into the regulator? Altenator - at the alternator. I need to check corroded connections as well but there's so many dang connections and I'm a novice at best. Thanks in advance everyone. |

Re: 01 Workhorse 1200 Charging Issue
IMHO if you find someone with an amp meter you should be able to pin point the problem easily, on quick check if it is a charging problem it is easy to check. jack up the rear end and start the cart keep it running , have some one to remove the wire on the hot post of the battery ,, if the buggy continues to run, it is charging. These things can be tricky could be a loose ground, but an amp meter will tell the story, you dont have to unhook the wires to see if there is juice on them, best of luck, God Bless

yeah, I ordered the VR this morning, it was pretty cheap and would eliminate that part of the problem

Re: 01 Workhorse 1200 Charging Issue
When you remove the cover over the VR , there is a metal part sticks up that the bolt that hold top cover on, in is in way of the VR and U have to bend it back so U can get to the VR (or I did) make sure U put it all back like U took apart, the bolt that holds VR may be difficult to remove and put back, so watch it all .

Noted. The cover was already off, I think I have it - I bought it that way, leads me to suspect they were having problems before
