1988 Engine Options
Hello everyone! I am new here, I am just starting look at carts. I want a fun winter project and think rebuilding/fixing up a cart is exactly what I want to do. I have come across a 1988 that needs a new engine. As much as I like a challenge I don't have unlimited funds. As such I was curious what kind of options I have for replacement engines. I would also be curious about price ranges I could expect.
Thanks in advance for any assistance. |

Re: 1988 Engine Options
if the cart has the original blown engine, a full top end will run you $150 in parts, if you need to do a 100% rebuild the parts will run you around $320 ... As to a swap, the 88-down carts don't lend themselves to transplants as say a 95-up TXT does, or even the 89-up if you can find an old Polaris 244 Robin engine ...
