Each one of those solenoids should be below $100
The pics I have of the controller are not on my phone. Must have deleted them by accident. |

Re: Bad Boy Buggie Dead after washing - HELP Please
The F/R contactor for those models I believe is an Albright SW202 "type"....the original BB one I have was not an authentic Albright.....price one of those. The Authentic 202 is pricey, the clones not so much.
One thing you might check....the Contactor is an open design...meaning the contacts are open to the elements. If you inadvertently dislodged some crud while washing and it entered the solenoid contact area its possible its not making contact in reverse. Might simply blow the area out with air or take it apart possibly. If its a big green controller those are obscenely expensive. I doubt that's it though. |

Re: Bad Boy Buggie Dead after washing - HELP Please
I sent the woman an email asking for the specific part name that she was describing. She said it was the controller after saying she finally got her dealer portal working on her computer. I now know she was full of beans and had no clue what she was talking about as I'm certain on the language she used on our first correspondence. Judging by what you guys have offered, there are several other possible fixes other than just swapping out the controller. Hoping the dealership is trustworthy !!! Undecided now. Can I pay one of you guys to make a house call ?!?!? Please

Re: Bad Boy Buggie Dead after washing - HELP Please
If shes clickin in forward and reverse but only moving forward the F/R solenoid/contactor should be the culprit. Thats a series system....the F/R contactor is flippin your polarity....the ONLY thing different when you switch directions is the polarity.....if it works in forward it should work in reverse (as long as its actually switching and making contact in whatever direction) now...the Navitas is a lil different animal than compared to other controllers. The Actual F/R switch on the dash goes to the controller then the controller switches your contactors from Forward to Reverse and vise versa. Since you say it "sounds" like its switching in both directions I would tend to believe the contactor has something in it or the reverse contacts just went south at the same time you washed it. If its still clicking when Forward IS NOT working then I'd really lean towards it.
Heres a good pic of what I mean by "OPEN" design.....you can clearly see the contacts inside. |

Re: Bad Boy Buggie Dead after washing - HELP Please
Hi guys, i'm new to your site. Was reading some of the post trying to find answers to my own problems and thought i would pass on some info that might be helpful. If you do need a new navitas controller you can have your old one rebuilt by FSIP (flight systems industrial products). Phone# 800-333-1194. you'll have to set up an account or go threw a dealer that aleady has one. Just got my Navitas TSE 1000 back at a cost of $450. 00.

Re: Bad Boy Buggie Dead after washing - HELP Please
i had a similar problem with my cushman commander cart no reverse. check if you are getting power from the reverse tab on the ign.switch.follow that wire down to the harness that plugs into the controller.should be a harness.unplug the harness and stick a paper clip in the reverse wire on the harness.turn the key on.if test light comes on then you are getting power to the controller.then most likely its the controller.I sent mine to a place called golframa.they fixed the problem and warrantied it for 2 years. It wasnt cheap 299.00 hope this helps.

Re: Bad Boy Buggie Dead after washing - HELP Please
Mark made it sound like he had postponed working on the bike till spring so i quit checking in on all of the comments but short of plugging a scan tool into the navitus its hard to say if its bad or not. Ive seen his exact problem where sometimes it works in one direction and not the other and then switches. The quick fix for that everytime was popping out the fnr switch and cleaning up the connections.

Re: Bad Boy Buggie Dead after washing - HELP Please
Hey Gang........just an update. I wasn't able to make any positive steps with my buggie, so I broke and brought it to the nearest service station, Bass Pro Shops. They said they'd perform all necessary recall work and solve the reverse issue through a diagnostics of the system. Still waiting to hear any news. I will re-post when I hear back from the store. Thanks again to all who gave suggestions, advice, recommendations etc.
