Lights and Radio Dim with Gas Precedent
I have read but really can't seem to find the answer, so sorry if this has been answered before. I have 2011 gas precedent that has radio, madjax led lights, overhead led lights, and cigarette socket. But when I hit the gas lights dim and radio cuts out.. my battery is from autozone 750 cca and 90min runtime. Any help to stop the diming of lights is needed.

Re: Lights and Radio Dim with Gas Precedent
I believe it's hooked to a small little box thing not directly to battery.. remember this is a gas cart with only 1 12 volt battery

Re: Lights and Radio Dim with Gas Precedent
yes i am aware you have a gas cart with 1 12v battery
it has a voltage regulator ( "small little box thing" ) to keep the starter/generator from supplying more volts than the 12v accessories can handle i would first check the voltage out put of the starter/generator then the voltage regulator ( "small little box thing" ) voltage out put |

It doesn't happen on my gas cart or those of two other friends. If anything, the lights get brighter when the engine is running.

Yes lights and radio work fine once cart gets going, it's on initial starting for about a second is when lights and radio dims

Re: Lights and Radio Dim with Gas Precedent
That would be typical when going from the engine not running to the engine running. It takes a fair amount of juice to spin the starter/generator to get the engine moving to fire up. You don't see this in your car/pickup because you don't typically turn the lights on until the engine is running. Since the cart engine stops running when you stop moving, you will see this on the cart where you wouldn't in your regular vehicle.
