Cart runs with foot off pedal
Yesterday while golfing I begin smelling something hot under the seat of my 1994 ezgo cart. When I lifted the seat I noticed the resister bank was red hot. I turned off the key and let it cool down. When inspecting it I saw the cables on terminal 4 of the resisters were lose and arcing. I wedged a golf tee under the cables and made it back to my house near the golf course. Today I was able to get a new resister bank and hook it back up. However when the key is on and in either forward or reverse the cart moves at a slow speed without depressing the foot pedal. So something is allowing the power to still get to the motor and the smell of something hot comes back. In looking over the wiring diagram it is not obvious what is causing the problem. It seems like something is welded shut from the over heating . Does anyone out there have any suggestions? Thanks, Larry 405-485-9555 or peanutsfolks@pldi.net

Re: Cart runs with foot off pedal
Maybe the speed wiper is stuck on the first button? ie; go peddle not coming all the way back to zero?

Re: Cart runs with foot off pedal
Cleaned each button and wiper does return to netural button and it does not explain why the resistors begin to over heat. Thanks, Larry

Re: Cart runs with foot off pedal
That was my thought. Tomorrow I will listen for the clicking noise of the soleniod pulling in and check continuity with my meter. Is there a good site to purchase parts on line with good prices? And about how much shoud it cost?
