Re: G3E - Upgrades not bringing the speed?
I picked up an Alltrax 500a SPM72500 (their last iteration before the latest version) controller on the cheap this week, and plan to replace the Chinese Curtis 1205 controller that I suspect isn't putting out for me as I feel that it should with the new motor.
When I originally installed the Curtis I also connected an additional A2 wire from the Curtis to the A2 of the motor which I assume is designed for plug braking, which I'm not using or interested in using. Since the new Alltrax does NOT have an A2 connection, would it be safe to assume that I can simply remove the previously used additional A2 wire from the Curtis controller and motor completely and just no longer make that connection right? Also, should I leave the diodes already in place on my main solenoid and reversing contactor solenoids or do I need to totally remove them when installing the Alltrax since they are built in? Thanks in advance... |
