1988 robins 244 ezgo 2 stroker wont start
I recently bought 1988 2 stroker that will turn over but has a hard time starting. It seems to start (run) easier in reverse? I have replaced the battery, starter/generator, fuel pump, spark plug, fuel filter and carburetor. I have when it actually runs it runs strong but is very annoying when it is just cranking over. Whem i bought it the owner told us to use the choke for just a couple of seconds. It smells flooded but almost seems like it isnt getting fuel. I checked the fuel pump and it is pumping fuel. Tested the spark plug and it is arching correctly. I can record a video if that would help better describe the issue. Any thoughts?

Did you check the compression? There are several things it could be. Junky carb, crank seals, low compression. Probably not the muffler if it is an 88.
