2014 XRT 850 gas anyone have one.
I hope this is the right place to post this as it is a gas club car...
Anyone know anything about these newer club cars other than what is listed on the website or on a brochure? Are they any good or worth the money? I know being new they are priced up there but I'm debating selling mine and using that money to get a newer one. Does the engine still run CW on the newer ones? It's a 14hp subaru fuel injected engine http://www.clubcar.com/us/en/persona...x2/xrt850.html |

Re: 2014 XRT 850 gas anyone have one.
A buddies daughter at the campground that I was at, bought a new 2013 XRT 850 with the Suzuki engine,
056 (2).jpg 049.jpg They asked me to take it for a ride, and give them my rating... To me? it rode really well! and it had a lot of "oomph", but, it was a bit confusing when shifting! (the dash shifter was something I wasn't used to) It felt like a standard, new, DS... but when looking it over to see the differences between the DS and the XRT, There were a "boat load" of differences! (not a bad thing... just different!) It still has the same basic "idea" with the governor, and original design, but, again... a completely different design! and If I remember correctly... it had a Clockwise rotation! (but... don't quote me on that!) They asked me to "speed it up" (zip tie the gov spring) and I would have loved to, (just to see what it could do!) but, I refused... because it only had 16 hours on it! IMO... I gave it a 7 out of 10, it's a nice cart! but the new design threw me off a bit! and... it's REALLY pricey! .02 |

Re: 2014 XRT 850 gas anyone have one.
Yeah true on the price... As its $7500 for a 14 & $8100 for a 15 year model... Thats a lot of money but it can be done on payments
But all my carts are stock for now & maybe it is better to just put money into one of mine. Now in no way do I want to put 7-8k in an older cart |

And that's fine! It's just a matter of personal preference!
That particular one my bud's daughter bought?... it was for $10K with the dealer upgrades! I bought my Lynx (XRT550) brand new for $5500 from the same CC dealer... and over time... I still wanted to do more with it! (+$5K) The XRT 850 is a nice cart! but... if it's "not your cup of tea"?... no problem! You wanted "insight"?.... I gave you my opinion! |

Lockman I value your opinion 100%, I hope I didn't say anything to make you think other wise. Also that's what I hope wouldn't happen to me.
Spend $8k on a new cart to only put money back into it and then be broke.... Haha What all dealer upgrades did they do to it to bring that price to $10k? I see wheels but what else? It did seem similar to the DS to me. |

Re: 2014 XRT 850 gas anyone have one.
No BD... no disrespect taken on this side!
It's kind of goofy... I really respect and know my CC dealer! The things I respect? he will give you his honest opinion of what you may want or need, WITHOUT going over your budget! (IF... you know what you want, and what you want to pay!) but, at the same time... he's in the retail business... he HAS to make money in order to keep the roof over his head! Before knowing about BGW's fine sponsors... I knew his eyes lit up with dollar signs when I told him I was coming to the shop for parts! (Again... he's in the retail business, and sometimes he, or someone can see "The one" that just doesn't know... and can make a profit from them!) I get it NOW... but a lot of people don't! (my bud's daughter and hubby didn't... 'nuf said!) and your right... it IS just a stock cart with nice rims and tires, and that was it! it's just the price some people have to pay without researching it before hand! As for the XRT850 being comparable to a later model DS? IMO... there's a HUGE difference! and I think CC stopped making DS's around 2012. .02 Last edited by lockman1; 01-03-2015 at 08:33 PM..
