Well, there goes that bright idea. That's such a scary point of fault. And TWICE these power related issues have happened. Both times on a public road. My kid's situation was just flat disobeying the rules, but for me it's literally just crossing Rt 60 from the school to the subdivision. It never sees a public road otherwise. And it's only me driving. I don't even let my licensed older daughter do that. Ugh. This is gonna bug me because I like driving it to the ball field, but I just don't trust it anymore. The cable is my fault, but still...

You can always just change the solenoid out on a schedule but probably overkill. As for cables just do a tug test when you’re checking water levels.

In general, these carts are reliable enough to trust them if you keep them maintained. I would probably plan to replace the solenoid every 5 years or so - maybe more often if used every day. Check battery water at least every other week - more often as they age because they consume more water then. Check battery cables and I recommend applying spray on corrosion inhibitor if you are using FLA batteries. Not needed for Lithium. Do not add water to batteries except after charging because the level goes up when you charge them. Overfilling is the leading cause of acid getting on top and corroding the cable connections.
