Default 27hp Kawasaki motor

I found a 27hp motor that needs to be rebuilt. I was trying to see if anybody nows if that engine is real expensive to built?

Water cooled or air cooled? They are normally a bit higher to overhaul than say a Briggs of a Kohler....but not outrageous. These engines have had a problem with the gear train coming apart (Plastic gears disintegrates over time). The replacement gears are steel!

It's a water cooled engine the guy told me that it needed a crank kit but if it needs that I would go through the hole motor.

Kawi's are pretty tough engines. I work at a John Deere dealership. The commercial lawn care guys work the hell out of their equipment and the Kawasaki engines hold up very well. They are quieter and run much more smoothly than Briggs or Kohler engines- much more refined. More expensive too. It will cost you some bucks to fix it up, but will be really nice when you are done. Some of the engines have a tapered crankshaft (like a snowmobile or Ezgo engine) which may limit your options for a clutch.
