Default 2013 Starr Starts then stops.

2013 Starr Classic. It starts then stops. If I play with the accelerator, it will start and stop again both forward and reverse. I have replaced the speed sensor because it would not go over 8MPH. I replaced the speed controller and the 48 volt relay. At rest 49.5 volts at full speed 44.5 volts. It has a Curtis controller 1268 5403. Could that be the problem? I installed a GPS speedometer due to the original one only reads P1 through P7. Can not get it to read MPH. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I put the cart on charge overnight. Got home today and rode it up and down the street. It did not stop and start like it was doing. Got up about 18 MPH in the length of the block, probably would have gone a bit faster had to stop at the sign. Did notice a significant voltage drop on meter just going up and down the street. Leaning towards new batteries. Is it worth going to a single 48V lithium battery vs 8 6 volts.

Your batteries are shot.
Single 48v lithium pack is better.

Thank you I have come to the same conclusion. Since I live on an island in New Jersey I am putting the cart away for the winter. Next season it will be a 48Volt lithium.

Thank you for taking the time to help me. Have a great night and stay safe.

If I go to the single 48 volt lithium battery will my Curtis Controller 1268 5403 work with the new battery?

Controller doesn't care if the battery chemistry is lithium or lead acid. Just select a lithium pack that will be able to supply high enough current that it won't go into a protection shutdown if you jump on the throttle.
