Default Re: 2016 club car and the Subaru efi questions....?

I have a 2017 with the Subaru and my phone GPS said 30. We have a 6inch lift and 23 inch a/t tires. The guy who did the work put a zip tie on the governor but its to fast for family and the road. I am going to take the zip tie off and see what happens. What should I expect?

I would say 18 mph with those 23s
you can always loosen up a zip tie to slow it down but still have a little speed.
Its kinda trial and error.

It was not a kit. It was all welded from bare aluminum by a guy in north Georgia called Mr Golf Car. It looks really good from underneath..

Where is that governor located on the fuel injected subaru onward and how would I adjust it?

There is a pivot arm on the rear end. There is a circular shaft that has a rectangle end on it. (On the old models you could just loosen the bolt and let the pivot arm swing free) On this new model you must drill out the oblong hole to make a round hole (on the top of the arm).. that way when the rear end govener tries to pull the throttle arm back it just spins inside the arm and does not grip the arm. Got mine cruising at 30mph and hits the limiter at 32mph. ☺️
Edit: the zip tie method also works..just a trial and error sort of thing on how many loops of the spring to tie up.

I just took my 2016 to the Club Car dealer and they are installing the gears. I'm wondering if they are needed with all of this zip tie talk! I also sent my cart to Mr. Golf Car in GA to get stretched.

It's the shaft that the throttle arm grips around.

Club car actually sells a "high speed" throttle cable for the Subaru's that replaces the stock (slower) one.
It has a shorter heavier spring compared to the stock cable where you would normally use zip ties.
I've used a few in the past but usually just mod. the original cable and disable ground speed governor on the newer Subaru's with EFI.
