This is where an impact is your friend. You won't need the rope then.

To remove the flywheel, you need a steering wheel puller. Place a socket over the end of the crankshaft to protect the slot. Thread two 6mm bolts into the flywheel, and pull.

To remove the clutch, remove the long retaining bolt, and possibly a thread protecting plug to expose the 3/4" fine threads. Insert a short brass rod, or pack the cavity with grease, and thread in a 3/4" bolt to push the clutch off. Again, this is where the impact really comes in handy.

You could also try loading it up with tension, and giving the bolt a smack with a hammer. It's the shock that you need.

Fantastic advice. Going to grab some longer bolts tomorrow. Hopefully home depot has a better variety than lowes. Thank you so much for your input.

Also not a bad idea to soak crankshaft with penetrating oil. Makes it pop loose easier I have found.
