Re: Charger says incomplete
Reviving this old thread. I just purchased a 2008 Yamaha YDRE(G29 I believe). The Yamaha 48v charger didn't come with a manual. I plugged it in and the power light was constant, the charging light was solid, and the charged light flashing. It was like that for about 3 hours and then went to a solid green. I went out about an hour later and the power light is flashing. Is this "Equalization" mode? Will the charger completely shut off when done charging? Thanks in advance!

å Power ON Light (Red)
∫ Error Light 1 (Red) ç Error Light 2 (Red) ∂ Charging Light (Yellow) fl Charged Light (Green) 4. When the charger is plugged into the AC power, the Power ON Light illuminates continuously. 5. If Error 1 or Error 2 light is blinking, there is a problem with the batteries or the charger. Contact your Yamaha Dealer. 6. During normal charging, the Charging Light blinks or continually illuminates. 7. The charger turns off automatically when the batteries reach full charge. 8. After the charger has turned off, disconnect the DC output plug from the golf car receptacle by grasping the plug body and pulling the plug straight out of the receptacle. This is from my owner's manual. It references a charger owner's manual but I have never seen one of those. Not sure if you have the same charger. Many of these fail and people replace them with other chargers. |

Re: Charger says incomplete
That's a Yamaha JW2 charger, essentially a PowerWise QE made for Yamaha. They die about as often and are not repairable except to send to FSIP (who has their own Quality Control issues)
The OP's charger is the much older (and better) heavier ferro-resonant charger built like a tank. JW2 chargers are usually seen on YDRE Drive cars. |
