Default cant seem to get wiring right on 1989 ezgo

I've hooked everything up according to this diagram, but I cant seem to my cart to work. Once I connected the battery cables, it overheated and melted a wire on the f/r switch. The wire that meltedwas # 36. From the pic it looks as though it goes from the switch to the top post with the s1 cable. maybe I just cant seem to understand it or something.

I didn't see a 36? Where does it go to / from? ... you must have something connected wrong?

check the diagrams at the top of this forum. looks like #36 goes from a micro to the top of the fnr switch.

If you burnt that wire then you have reversed the polarity somewhere and likely the micro switch has burnt also.

Unhappy Re: cant seem to get wiring right on 1989 ezgo

I figured that I may have messed up the micro switch. But the problem i have is that I hooked it up exactly like the diagram showed. what do I need to do differently? iIt seems like a fairly easy wiring process, but i cant seem to get it right. Any other suggestions?
