I know there is a fair amount of reading here: http://www.ddmotorsystems.com/SolenoidsPage.php but scroll down to the Solenoid FAQ's and Tech Tips and follow what they are saying. This should determine if your solenoid is working and transferring current to your controller or not.

Brought it to a local shop , turned out to be the f/r switch that was bad .

Hopefully you didnt buy just another stock F/R switch. HD is the way to go, My stock one would get really hot when I drove from my house to the golf course, there was a smell of burning plastic. Got a heavy duty one from Scotty and its cool all the time. Just my 2 cents.
