Default How far or how long?

How far or how long should a full charge cart run?

Batterys checked out good...pack voltage after rest is 38.2

I have not actually load tested these batterys yet.

Just looking for some input.

Lots and lots of factors involved here. Is the cart stock? Does it have larger tires and stock drive train? Custom drive train? Extra batteries? What speed(s) are you driving? What kinds and number of hills are you going to climb? Are the batteries good, (load test)? How much weight are you hauling/pulling? And on and on.
As a reference, stock carts are designed to comfortably drive through an 18 hole course with two people and two sets of clubs on board. In talking with a couple cart mechanics at a course, I was told they expect their carts to run the course twice on each charge. But that's a lot of stop and go.

Basically, your question is: How far will a car go on a tank of gasoline.

The answer to that question is, it depends on how many Miles Per Gallon the car gets and how many gallons the fuel tank holds.

Translated to electric golf cart terms: The answer is, it depends on how many AH the cart uses per mile and how many AH the battery pack holds.

Thank you both for the replys.Cart is stock...came from a golf course.

I think I see the answer...should be fine for my use.I may go as far as 3-4 miles with it...Only time I feel a load on the batterys is climbing a hill. When the batterys are freshly charged...sitting for a couple of hours...unused...goes up the hill full throttle...no problem...after a trip 3-4 miles...It nearly comes to a halt...

I really need to load test these batterys....don't I?

YES you do......I personally believe your batteries are nearing the end of their usable life span. considering my batteries are 2 years old and I have a usable rand of 25-28 miles.

They need to be load tested to get the actual numbers, but you've already "Load Tested" them in the cart.

If the battery pack wimps out after only 3 or 4 miles, one or more of the batteries in it will most likely fail the formal load test protocol for deep cycle batteries.

Load tested this morning.Found just one that appeared weak.During test one battery dropped to 5.9 but went back up to 6.3.Water was low on that battery. But I will put one of my new ones in its place.Top off with distilled water the put my 6volt charger on it in the shed. Will test it again in a few days.

The rest of the batterys never left the "green" an bounded back to 6.3 or more.Found a couple of dirty cables...which I will clean.
