core charge
When you change from 36 volt to 48 volt and buy new batteries is the core charge the same?
I ask this because I have a set of trojan 105 that are 3 months old, I want to go to 48 volt. But in the meantime I picked up a club car for 100.00 that needs batteries its 36 volt. So do I put the trojans in the club car then get 8 volt for my ezgo. The bottom line is that I will still have 6volt batteries for a core. maybe just sell the club car for help with my upgrades. if |

Re: core charge
6 & 8v core charge is the same from our distributor. The 12v GOLF batteries are worth more, but only because fewer fit on a pallet. We trade a full pallet of used (and $) for a full pallet of new. Our supplier will take a full pallet of 12s or a mix of 6s & 8s as cores for whatever we ordered. If you bought batteries from me, i coukd care less what the cores were, as long as they are Golf Cart batteries (car starting batteries would not work).

Re: core charge
family owns a NAPA and they dont care 6 or 8 as long as its one or the other to trade. Its all about the weight.

Re: core charge
I made a deal with six 6v golf cart batteries from Advance Auto parts where they didn't need my cores. It's worth asking the manager if you have one near you. Saved me some $.

Re: core charge
Thanks Guys for the info.
I always have to plan things because of my budget. I buy something on my credit card then the wife pays it off every month. I dont spend a lot. because I dont work anymore. You just dont know how I think about getting all my parts that I want from scotty and put it on my card. then at the end of the month beg the wife to forgive me. and tell her that I wont do it again. (sorry) |

Re: core charge
When I went from six 6 volts to eight 6 volts, I managed to find a school bus battery to trade in with my six cores. They actually paid me back more than the core charge, due to the size of the battery traded in. There are probably tons of dead batteries sitting in dead cars, trucks, buses, etc. You could probably ask for them on Craigs List. I know of several people who posted requests for dead appliances, welders, etc. and many people were more than happy to give them away.
