Ok it's not the brakes, because when the cart is in the air I can turn one rear tire in one direction and the other tire moves in the opposite direction like it should because of the diff.

Now when placing both hands one on each rear tire and try to spin the
Both in the same direction it won't budge. Like if it were on the ground and I try to push the cart it won't move.

Stock carts have open diffs. They are NOT similar to limited slip. Actually, they are, but not for this discussion. It is very difficult to spin the tires opposite directions on a limited slip.

Not trying to be an azz, just don't want to perpetuate false info.

As to the origenal poster, could the drums be full of rust?

Edit, that was quick. LOL. Anyways, could the motor or upper gearbox be frozen? (Rust)

So I pulled the motor off, and the chassis moves freely now. So my problem lies in the motor someplace. Very strange it won't spin at all I even hit it a couple times with a hammer to see if I could bust it loose inside. No luck but will work on it again in a week.

Update, the brushes were frozen to the armature of the motor. I have the Motor apart and would like any info on who does a good rebuild or recommend a new motor?

1999 series ezgo txt 36v stock controller and fr switch

Lifted with 23" tires 14" wheels

New batteries

Would like to keep the stock controller and fr switch
