Default RXV Cables

Is there any performance value to installing heftier cables on a stock RXV?

If you added the 350a controller upgrade, it comes with 4g cables. Otherwise, not really. Also, the 3 motor cables are soldered to the motor, good luck changing them.

Thanks. So, no reason to change anything without upgrading the controller.

I upgraded my RXV to a new 2016 build of the 350 Amp 1206AC-5350 controller. It did not come with cables. Not being one to just swap controllers, I bought 2 Guage welding cable and lugs to fit it. I made a set of HD cables for inter-battery connections and to the controller. I'm not wanting to go through the hassle of switching out motor wires.

While you really don't HAVE to swap out the wires on a stock RXV, it would reduce voltage drop in the wires a little. That would deliver a little more energy to the motor, energy that would otherwise be wasted as heat in the wires.
