01 series won't go
I have a build thread going but my questions about my no go have gone unanswered. I'm assuming this is because you would have to read the whole two pages to find them lol. So I am addressing this here hoping I can get this resolved then I will continue in the build thread with build updates.
I have no go on my 01 club car with brand new batteries. 49.3v at both sides of solenoid it clicks when I hit go. I have the same voltage at both b+ and m1 on the controller. I have good rates coming out of the v glide. I reset the computer already and I bypssed it as well all with a no go in either direction. Can you verify that the tests I've done rule the controller and computer good. If so the only thing after that is the motor so how do I go about checking the motor? Thanks ahead of time for responses. I really want to get this thing going but I'm officially stumped. |

Re: 01 series won't go
Continuity Test it first. Disconnect all the cables from the motor. (Be sure to double wrench every motor post/stud when breaking them lose or you may break them off. Spray them down with penetrating oil prior to doing it)
Get out your DVM and set it to the Continuity setting and: - Test between A1 and A2 (Beep) - Test between S1 and S2 (Beep) - Test between A1 and S1 (No Beep) - Test between A1 to Motor Case (No Beep) - Test between S1 to Motor Case (No Beep) If all those were good, jack up the cart; connect a jumper from A1 to S1. Connect 12v positive to A2 and then 12v negative to S2. Swap S1 and S2 to change rotation direction. It may help to have a disconnect switch from the 12v and do not let the motor run uncontrolled long - this is only a test... |

Re: 01 series won't go
The large post coming from the battery side will have pack voltage (full) and the post on the other side (controller) will have just under pack voltage and then when you press the go-pedal and you hear it click (close) it will come up to full pack voltage. If you do not hear it click or it does but the other side does not come up to full pack voltage, you have a bad or sticking solenoid.
On the 2 small post, after you depress the go-pedal, you should have 48v when you are probing both posts simultaneously. Did you test run the motor as described to verify it is operational? |
