Default "Possessed" Alumacar needs reprogramming

We have a 1236-5301 AC controller in an Alumacar golf cart that at times seems to be possessed. Most of the time it works great and does about 30 mph. Occasionly, it will do random jerking movements even when the pedal is not depressed. We thought perhaps it needs to be "reflashed" but we don't know if it can be done and we are not equipped to do it. We acquired another used 1236-5301 controller thinking that we might be able to clone the parameters from the original controller but the cloning process fails because of a mismatch of software versions of the two controllers.
We know there are several Curtis VCL experts on this board so we are reaching out for your assistance. Would anyone be able to test and reflash this controller? Also, if we sent you both units would you be able to clone the second controller to match the original?
To help with interfacing, we can provide the 35 pin plug with enough wires brought out to access 48v, B-, Can bus, and the hand-held.programmer receptacle.
Of course we will be happy to reimburse you for time if you think you can help.

Thanks

The jerky motions at rest are typically due to RPM-Speed setting being off. This can happen if the gear ratio or tire diameter is changed. But yes, the VCL cannot be cloned by normal means and just because a last 4 digits of a Curtis AC match doesn't always mean they have the same VCL. Some are made specifically for an OEM in which case then they will. A 5301 is likely a generic model.

The best thing to do if at all possible is to contact the OEM for programming. If this isn't an option FSIP or TVH are able to test the hardware of 123x models and clone the VCL.
