Default 1995 48 de conversion question

I would like to convert my 1995 club car 48 volt ds motor and controller over to a new precedent motor and controller. Do I have to buy a new obc or will it recognize it after restarting? I would simply like more speed and came across the controller and motor on the cheap. Thanks in advance.

Bump. Still trying to figure out if I could swap the motor, controller, obc, and solenoid from an 04 precedent with the wiring harness of 1995 ds.

There were some differences in the OBC through the years, but nothing I would be too concerned with. There are plenty of workarounds that will make that part work.

The main problem you have is your wire harness will be totally different and nothing will plug in. You will need to replace the entire wire harness with an IQ harness and probably upgrade the throttle control to a MCOR4 to get the new motor/controller combo to work.

Talk to David Hicks at Revolution Golf Cars, he can get you everything you will need to make that conversion work. He will probably need to know the exact model number on the new controller, and can then get you the right IQ harness for a DS cart.

Last I checked that whole wire harness was less than $150 so it’s not a deal breaker to replace it, and it’s all brand new factory wiring from CC so it’s good quality.
