Default Ezgo engine/yamaha hybrid

Hello, new member here and first post. We just bought a (what we thought was) Yamaha body.. It looks to be like around a 2000 G16. the owner was a kid that bought it as is and welded things and cut things.. I was not there when my wife bought it.. The thing runs but not very good at all (he had cables zip tied etc (pulls hair out), but then I am looking at the engine and its prefabed to fit. He made his own engine mounts etc to make this engine fit.. From what I can tell and searching. this is a 2 stroke 244cc engine by ez go.. I cant find any markings on this engine either.. what a project eh?? anyway it also looks like its not the original Carburator.. it looks like a 4 stoke carb mikuni type.. ive no idea.. anyway.. to get to questions.. I am having a heck of a time finding info on this engine and whats original linkage for and whats the carb thats supposed to be on it... any help would be great..
sorry for being long winded... just frustrated thanks for any help
the manuals ive seen here do not cover this engine

I know i've come across diagrams for the 2pg and 3pg engines. I'll see if I can find them again.

2 question... 1) why would fuel be pouring out of the carb... its dripping out of the intake front of the carb when turning over the engine...

2) I am such a noob at this... its not getting spark to the plug (this just happend) was before, ive not changed any wires.. coil? the modules going to the coil? might have to post some pix of the parts involved

fuel coming out of carb is probably a stuck or dirt in the needle valve- float sticking

its a brand new carb I just placed on it and the last carb (was the wrong carb) was doin something similar... its like WAY too much gas being sucked into the carb at once... its a custom linkage and I have no idea how the original goes... ill try to look that up ... when starting the engine its like wide open..
