G1 Rebuild ?
I might be rebuilding my g1. Just few questions before i consider. Do you have to tear down whole motor to put piston an jug on? An does the wrist pin have to be pressed in an out or are there clips that hold it? The cart has lost compression when gets warm.

Re: G1 Rebuild ?
No, you can remove/replace the cylinder/piston/rings without splitting the lower case halves. There are clips that hold the wrist pin in place. But, when doing a top end and regaining compression, I would highly recommend changeing the crank seals at the same time. Good luck on your rebuild and welcome to BGW

Re: G1 Rebuild ?
You will likely find good posts here on how to do the rebuild. Try searching on G1 seals or G1 piston rings. Its a fairly easy job if you have done any rebuilds before. If not, you might want to invest in a service manual from one of the sponsors. It helped me out quite a bit. Good luck.
