Default 1995 Ds Good or Bad???

Ok just picked this unit up was told it was a later year but so be it... My question is how much of a odd ball cart is this? I see on some of other post that this year was some what of a r&d for the controllers and so. Any input would be great! Thanks

is it a 36 or 48 volt? if 48 volt thats the 1st year for OBC which had issues but if your dash light is orange its been changed at least once if not and its red it could be original and if cart is still running and charging well ok then........................

It will need an OBC replacement, if not today tomorrow. Those 1st generation obc was responsible for a lot of battery pack sales. So if it works keep a close eye on your finishing voltages and battery SOC in general.
CC used a potentiometer throttle input (0-5k) mounted under the floor. This unit is no longer available. A word to the wise is keep the cart away from any kind of water.
They are a series cart and easy enough to repair and upgrade, better than the Regen I or II carts of the late 90s.

the one nice thing about the 95 is that it is the easiest one to figure out and work on and most parts are still around ( most parts ) if its not running it could be as simple as a solenoid or it could be OBC related or controller related only problem is your gonna need to get batteries in it to find out.............good luck keep us posted we,ll get it running........................

I need the full serial number to tell you if it's an "Oddball" cart. Mid to late year 95s were exactly like the 96+

You should be in great shape with that serial number. Is the controller silver or black? If it's silver congratulations, you've got a great vehicle. Not to take anything away from the older style but it's MUCH easier to find upgrade items for the more modern setup.
