Jeremy, the lawn battery is usually quite small and will have rather limited power compared to a car battery. If your cart has a radio that you want to run when the cart is off, I'd go with the car battery.

I am planning on running my cart with a key, not pedal start. So I won't be starting/stopping all the time and even with that I think it's best to go with a car battery. Besides, the last lawn battery I bought at Walmart cost $38. For $42.99 the difference in price is minimal...

Okay thanks for the info. Now I got a new problem. I put the new battery in and nothing. I may have wires mixed up. Red is positive and black is neg but I have one thick wire with no coating on it. If I put it on neg nothing works, if I put it on pos the lights come on. WTH am I doing wrong?
