G2 engine rotation
Found a 1990 G2 on CL. It does not have an engine and wondering if they originally had a counter clockwise or clockwise rotation? Are these a decent cart to fix up or is it a waste of time? I know nothing about the Yamahas so all help is appreciated.

HA! I was looking at that same cart today, and wondering the same thing.

Re: G2 engine rotation
CCW rotation. All Yamahas are great carts It's ideal for a clone or a v-twin.

Re: G2 engine rotation
A little north of Longview/Kelso. I've been trying to convince the mrs that I could be much more productive with a motorized wheelbarrow. That cart looks like a good start.

Re: G2 engine rotation
She's more likely to approve a $100 wheelbarrow than a $2,000 one. She doesn't need to know about the $700 GX390!

Re: G2 engine rotation
I know how that goes. There's allot of parts my wife don't know about on the one I have now. I'm looking to build another one for my 8 year old daughter so I can get mine back. Are you going to look at it?

Re: G2 engine rotation
VERY tempted! I'm just not sure if this cart will serve my needs. Obviously it will need a clone and lift/tires/wheels, but I don't see a limited slip diff upgrade. I need something to haul some dirt/firewood/gravel, and occasionally move my 13' vintage travel trailer around the driveway. Seems like a newer cart may have a few more aftermarket upgrades available, but I can't justify paying $2,000 for a cart + upgrades.

Re: G2 engine rotation
$2000 for a G2? It better be "brand new". They just arent worth that much... Not that i dont like them, they are great. I have a G2 gas, and a G9 gas. There are a few drawbacks (no posi available). But there are pluses too, (very tough, bulletproof transaxle, will run forever, even if it starts smoking).
