hooking up batteries

from what i can tell i have a 68 harley golf cart when i got it there were no batteries and now that i have some but cant find a diagram on how to hook them up any help would be great.

Check the manual page 5-19

is the battery box long and skinny across the back of the buggy? or is it a standard box, 6 inches by 8 inches?
the positve will go to the solionido on the upper read suport oppisite side of the other big wire. it will have a small wire going to the inside of the surrport to your circuit breaker. the ground will sinply bolt to the frame. find you a good hole, clean up the mounting area to get a good clean contact. the 67 and 69 i work on have it inthe center of one of the rear surports on the back side as i remebr.
the long skinny battery orig came with it is still available at the big blue and yellow auto store, and yo can also get them at the TSC. make sure you get the 12 volt battery not the 6 volt!
but if you want to put the easily available 24 group battery, you will have to rlocate your wires.

ill have to look at it again but from what i can see theres two red wires going to the front of the cart and 2 black wires going to the back would they still be standardized with red as positive and black negative?

directly off the batter it goes to the soliniod. and to the froame. from the soliond it gos to the fwd.reverse switch. then to the starter. these are all the battery cables. the smaller 14 gauge wires goes from the soioniod on the oppisite side of the battery to the cb under the rear crossmeber. then from there to the ign switch to the micro switch under the gass pedal if i rember correctly. need to look at the wiring for the samll wiring again. i had to rebuld a harness from one of tehse after finding mouse and 4wd driving id=ssues to one. its not hard if you can read the schmatic.

ok rib i just read your post and reread the origianal poast from the reader. it does appear that a eelctric harley question is in the gas harley section. so if it is a electric harley, then he will have to look the info in the link i provided and look under the el version, not the gs version. meaning the el is electric and the gs is gas, in case it confuses people.
