![]() Here's the issues, 2001 club car ds, speed motor, 4 gage cables, heavy duty f/r. Had issues moving at all and the controller smelled burnt. Replaced that with a new 500 amp controller and the solenoid was not working and when tested was not doing anything so that was replaced. Still nothing. No clicking of the solenoid or anything. Thought mcor was next. It had been previously upgraded to an Mcor 3. Installed a new one. Now we have movement however... It has full power under about half pedal. And it cuts off after pedal is pressed over half. There is no slow roll to it. it's balls to the wall or nothing. Mcor only goes in one way but it seems to me like it's 180 off or something. By the way the controller and everything that was replaced was all newer in the last few years to begin with like the controller it was a 500 amp before. Stock was gone years ago.

![]() What brand is the controller? If it's an Alltrax you can hook a laptop up to it and tweak the throttle settings. Or if it's a GE you should be able to use a screwdriver to adjust manually. It sounds like they're a little out of whack...

![]() Think its a GE has three little caps on the side I assume are for screw adjust? I just put in the factory mcor and it down the same thing. I then rest the obc and it goes better. Its jerky in reverse and slow with pedal to the floor and fast at half pedal where before it shut off at full pedal. I'm kinda scared to mess with the adjustments in the controller.

![]() I'm guessing the three blue plugs on the top side are some kind of adjustment. This is the same controller I took out that was in there about 3 years he told me today.

![]() Yep those blue plugs cover the adjustment screws. The middle one should adjust the throttle. It won't hurt to play around with it, just make sure you have plenty of room around you when are adjusting, since the cart may accelerate differently than you are used to.

![]() Those are good controllers. I love them. I use them on all my series conversions.

![]() I'll give that a try tomorrow and let you know what happens. Any ideas also for a good controller for a 2001 regen? I have 6" of lift and 23's with the stock controller and it rolls at about 16mph. I'd like 25ish.

![]() The issue is that You have the wrong controller for an MCOR.
You have a "51-42L500NN0S" which is a 0-5kΩ throttle, but You should have a "51-42L500NNVS" which is a 3 wire 0-5v setup. The resistance of the potentiometer is not too important on a 0-5v setup as it is on a pure resistance or rheostat mode. If You cannot exchange the controller for the right type, You can make some modifications to the throttle signal to get it to work better. I also assume You must have removed (or will need to) the micro switch #3 for half-speed reverse as it would not be compatible with your controller. This should be the original wiring diagram for your cart: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac..._with_mcor.jpg Can You verify which MCOR wires you have plugged to Controller #2 and #3 Terminals? |
