Default Ezgo 48v cart radio and lights dies then loud pop and cart died.

KIDS WERE DRIVING THE CART, SAID THE RADIO AND BATTERY METER WENT OUT. about 1 minute later the heard a pop and whole cart dies with no forward or rev movement. checked fuse for reducer and fuse was blown, replaced and blows right away. checked voltage at all batteries and 12.6 on each except last battery in series measured 36 volts. the neg lead off that battery goes up to a block for the battery monitor which has a smaller wire going to the positive of the 1st battery in series. disconnect that and no change. disconnect the neg lead going to the block and the voltage drops to 12.6 on last battery. diode on solenoid was smoking, no clicking from solenoid when hitting pedal. when put in rev back alarm works but no movement. what do i check from here? any help appreciated.
