83 EZGO txt makes noise/won't go
Hello everyone I am new here. I am trying to get our old golf cart running. It is fully charged. I changed the solenoid because it sounds like it is trying to go, it makes a noise like it is running, but it dosen't move. After putting the new solenoid in, it is doing the same thing. Anybody have any ideas what is wrong? Thanks

Welcome to BGW
EZGO has a bad habit of stripping the axle hubs out....if that happens all you will get it spinning. Try and see if the axle nut is turning while pressing on the throttle. You may have to pop the little cap of the center to see the nut. |

I know this sounds dumb, but where is the axle cap? I looked where the axle is and I can't figure out what you are talking about. Do you have a picture or diagram of where it is at? I am a girl. HA HA I am trying to get this ready for our race this weekend. Thanks

Re: 83 EZGO txt makes noise/won't go
Right in the center of the wheel. NOT ON the wheel....there should be a cap. Its like a wheel bearing cap on a horse trailer, that exactly what it looks like and is. It may or may not be there. If it is still on there remove it and the axle nut will be behind that. If you see the nut spinning and the wheel isn't then the hub is stipped. It could be either side.
I'll try and find a pic. |

Those are both tight. I wish I could hold the phone out so you could here it on here. It is hard to explain. I almost think it is electrical. It hums like it it going, but I dosen't get to the motor. If that makes any sense.

No, I think it stops where the solenoid is. I just replaced it with a brand new one today. I hooked everything back up the way it was.

Re: 83 EZGO txt makes noise/won't go
The best guess I can give you right now is to download a wiring diagram and go over everything real good. Make sure all your connections are clean and tight. Pay close attention to the resistor coil connections...(series of coils that get very hot).
There is a diagram here...second one on the page. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...-diagrams.html |
