Need suggestions with my g14 torque
Okay so I bought a Yamaha g14 recently and I finally got all the wiring bugs fixed on it, The cart is lifted with some aggressive 22 inch tires, I am primarily using the cart to pull my trailer around the yard and driving the wife and dog around at the campground which has dirt roads and mild hills. the cart is 100% stock as far as motor and clutch and belt and I would like to figure out what I can do to get more low end torque, not to worried about top speed just want to be able climb and pull with ease. Thanks for the help

Re: Need suggestions with my g14 torque
Install a Umax spring in the secondary clutch, or if you want the best, call Don Plowman Carts!! Much info on clutches in "Yamaha G8 Club" thread!!

Re: Need suggestions with my g14 torque
The belt on my cart right now is about 1-1/8", is that a good width or do you think it needs replacing?

I would replace, but call Don Plowman before u spend money.
Get educated first, you'll make better decisions then!! Umax is good, and cheap, but Plowmans is superb!! |

Over stock with tall tires? Yes quite a bit of a difference!! Keep searching info on clutches, there is too much I won't remember to tell you!! Sho, made a comment in another thread; "CVT is a balancing act and it will not work as well with bad parts"! Very true!! That means both clutches!! Call Tom at CartPartPlus, he will have the Umax Spring!! Also need to get the spacer ring!! (It goes behind the spring seat!!) |

90508-45849-00 u-max spring part #.
If the sheaves are in good condition--no cupping or wear spots--they won't need to be replaced. Make sure the ramps on the spring seat are not worn. Replace them if questionable... |
