Yamaha G22 Shorter Belt
I am looking to replace my stock belt on my Yamaha G22 and I have seen where a lot of people add 1” shorter belts with success. I am having trouble finding a shorter belt. I would appreciate any help thag could be provided for this. Thanks

Re: Yamaha G22 Shorter Belt
You might want to check with Don Plowman as he probably knows what your best option is.

Re: Yamaha G22 Shorter Belt
What reputable source said "1 inch shorter belt" was better? I'm betting that's a crock of.... I bet yamaha engineers totally said "if we use a 24.5mm longer belt, we'll totally trick those american dogs".
Sounds like your putting bandaids on a gunshot wound that is your current messed up clutch situation. Stop with the sillyness. |

Re: Yamaha G22 Shorter Belt
Not sure why you'd ever put a shorter than factory belt on. Factory parts only IMO, unless you buy from Plowman's lol

I never said I had clutch issues, so the bandaid point you mention is moot. Also, the shorter belt success I mention comes from countless threads on this very board. So there is your “reputable source” as you call it. |

Re: Yamaha G22 Shorter Belt
Since you never really asked a question in your first thread....
What is it that you are looking to accomplish with a shorter belt? Been there, done that. Maybe there's a better solution. A shorter belt will do three things: 1. lower top end speed 2. keep cart in "low gear" longer, maybe 3. adds stress to your clutches Or are you already set on a 1" shorter belt and just need help finding one? |

This cart is solely used as a utility cart on the farm. I have a cut sheave and high torque spring in it already. I would like to even further raise the torque for pulling and hauling. Not worried about top speed. The intent is simply low gear, high torque. |
