Curious because I bought a kit myself from Tom and he's been helping me out. My muffler looks just like this one that he sold me and my cradle, clutch etc etc that I bought from him as well. I am working on the kit and if there was something I need to do to ensure my cart is operating at its best potential I want to do it. If I need to extend an additional tailpipe to the muffler then its not a problem. curious not doubting.

Exhaust just needs to be extended past the axle to get the gases out from under the cart. Leaving it the way it is lets fumes build up along with all that heat coming out. Just add on pipe to the muffler and should be ok.
