Hi guys I have a customer with a 1984 club car and the primary clutch is completely shot. Having a hard time finding a replacement (ebay etc) just wondering my options. Thanx for any help. Shad

Re: Help with clutch
I like your style my friend. I have seen that you can use newer clutches on this unit and that was my next question. I will contact my customer and call them for that clutch. Resizing the generator belt will be the easy part. Thanx Shad

Re: Help with clutch
Yeah that way you not only end up with a better clutch that you can buy parts for but its a little larger in dia to get a little more top end. May also want to post a Wanted to buy in the parts section, as there are alot of guys who have done motor swaps and the old clutches are just gathering dust on a shelf somewhere.

Re: Help with clutch
The 84-87 clutch sits 1/2" more to the pass. side than the newer style. The drive belt doesn't line up. Unless someone has found a way to make them work.

Re: Help with clutch
Okay guys I have talked to my customer about this and he needs a replacement primary and secondary clutch for his 85 Club Car. I got the earlier post about the new primary clutch. Is there someone that can tell me about a bolt on primary and secondary clutch setup to help this guy out. Thanx Shad

Re: Help with clutch
Its been awhile since I seen one but I know of several flat head club cars with the new style clutch on them and I don't remember any alignment issues. If there is not enough slop in the bolt holes to align with the rear clutch, The rear clutch could be shimmed out to correct the alignment. That would be a better choice than paying over double for a clutch thats not made any longer and no parts are available
