Default Club Car Govoner

Hi I have a 1984 club car and it has a lift kit and large tires. Upon doing this, I lost a lot of torque and some speed. I've been searching around, but the instructions for removing the govoner are for the newer carts. Does anyone know how to adjust/remove the govoner on the the older club cars?

Thanks

If it is a four stroke the same principles apply re route cable that goes to the rear end and hook that up to carb and disconnect ground wire on the box in front under the head but dont over rev most get a revometer but if you have a descent ear you can use that
