Default Whats the difference between control boxes with different amps

I'm replacing my bad control box on my ezgo 36v and it seems I have a couple options 275 amps, 300 amps, and 350 amps. I'm not for sure which one is on it now it doesn't say on it. Can anyone help explain these different amps to me thank you in advance

You can find some info here.

Basically more amps equates to better performance out of the motor. However you may have to upgrade other components to handle the increased flow depending on how much amperage you allow to flow through.

If it is a series drive (series wound motor), the top speed at 36V will be the same, however the higher amp controllers will give you more acceleration from a standstill and more low end torque for pulling things or carrying heavier loads.

If the tires on cart are taller than 18", the take more torque to turn, so you want a higher ampacity controller.

Control boxes or speed controls or controllers come in different sizes for different applications. See below

Golf carts are engineered for the game of golf. Vehicle requirements are to carry two people over moderate terrain for short trips (300 yards). When we modify the cart with bigger tires and rear seat or use it for a different task we increase the workload for the motor.
The motor needs to work harder to meet these increased demands. This harder work requires higher amperage delivery. Think of the speed control as a valve in the amperage delivery system.
Controllers are rated by their maximum flow. Generally a 500 amp control will give the motor full access to the battery pack.
