I have a 90's club car.
How do you adjust the brakes? |

Hotdog? You'll need to be a bit more descriptive on the year of your cart!
84 to 96 had manual brake adjustments, 97+ have self-adjusting brakes! |

Re: Adjusting Brakes
I believe it is older than 1996. Not sure? It might be a 86 since the first #'s in the serial# are 86.

Re: Adjusting Brakes
drums are easy to adjust. There should bee a hole in the drum when you pull the wheel off. take a flashlight and slowly spin the drum until you see a tiny sprocket. take a flathead screwdriver and spin the sprocket until there is SLIGHT resistance on the drum. then test it out.

I didn't know if you had gotten a newer one since then, And yes... If the first 2 numbers are 86, then it's a 1986! There should be a rubber boot sticking out at 12:00 close to the top on the backing plate, pull that rubber boot off, and you should see a hex type rod/bolt, that's your shoe adjustment, while turning the drum, turn the hex nut (it sort of clicks) until you hear the drum start to drag, then turn it back a click. |
