Starter solenoid
Can i get one from the auto part store? Or is this something i need to get from the golf cart store?
Checked it with a meter and not getting voltage on one side of the solenoid, like its not going through. I'm saying this right, right? Should get voltage on both sides when the gas pedal is down... The cart is doing nothing. Just clicking from the micro switch's when the gas pedal is pushed down and released |

Re: Starter solenoid
I'm new to the golf cart world but I have noticed the solenoid on my gas cart is nothing more than an internal relay activated switch capable of delivering a high amperage load, I'm certain you could make any solenoid work, anything from a marine version to vintage ford, the only issues may be physical size in tight quarters.

Re: Starter solenoid
hold it you will need a continuous
duty solenoid, if indeed you need one. Acon are you getting power to the activating post on the solenoid? |

Re: Starter solenoid
You must use a continuous duty solenoid not an intermittent use auto solenoid.... Your auto solenoids die shortly in continuous use.. P.S. your problem sounds like it is in the activation circuit.
It takes 1 positive and 1 negative 12v current to the small terminals to activate the solenoid. Hope this helps. Knowing this you can see what is missing in the activation circuit and supply it with a jumper wire and see if in fact the solenoid works. |
